Filmed during the weekend of March 8th, 2002, as a college film project, this 22-minute film was produced on a $100 budget. Half of the budget alone was spent on
digital recording media This project included a wonderful cast and crew who all graciously worked for free provided I work for them on their own film projects which were being produced at the same time. Since it was a student project, work was limited to free time not already occupied with other college studies. Getting everyone together to film a scene was tough and the one shooting weekend we had was rough, but it all worked.

On set, an ambitious shooting schedule and time constraints led to strange filming practices such as my directorial demands that the camera never stop recording if a scene needed to be re-shot. It wasted a lot of tape but the extra footage gave me lots of great options in the editing room. Imaginings premiered along with other student work on May 30th of 2002 after a whirlwind eight-month production schedule. It is offered here on this website in the format above free of charge. I hope you enjoy this film!

Imaginings was my first real attempt at making a short film. It tells the story of Amy, a college student with an ability to see and interact with a little girl no one else can see or hear, Nina, whenever she puts on a special pair of red-tinted glasses. Is Nina a ghost or a figment of Amy’s imagination? As Amy prepares to rid herself of the red glasses forever, Nina leads her on a quest to discover the shocking truth about her own reality.

Imaginings is a short film by Adam Rose and is copyright 2002.
